A liner that lifts away from the walls, or a floor covered in wrinkles that were not there last season, is usually water behind the liner rather than a fault in the vinyl. Fixing the symptom without fixing the water source means repeating it.
What a floating liner looks like
The liner bulges off the wall at or below the waterline, often in one section, and the pool looks like it has a bubble in it. Sometimes the bead pops out along the same run. After the water drops, the liner may sit slightly off the wall and the floor may show waves.
Why it happens here
Groundwater rising behind the liner generates more pressure than the liner can resist. Clay-heavy Mecklenburg County soil holds that water instead of draining it, and a wet winter or a heavy summer storm pushes the water table up around the shell. In pools with a high water table or poor drainage around the deck, this becomes an annual event.

Can it be re-set?

Fix the drainage, not just the liner
